What?
Over time, I've been a, farmer's kid, Christmas tree plantation worker, potato picker, college student, electronic repairman (tubes!), CET, campus DJ, Unix/Linux system herder, author, tech editor, teacher, Perl coder and short-tempered IA storm trooper. Currently working multiple projects in search (applying Sphinx), FPGAs, and electronic circuits.
Where?
I've lived in North Chicago, Virginia Beach, Aiea/Pearl City, Orlando, Norfolk, and various small towns in the Southern Tier (Western NY).

Why here?
This is more-or-less the permanent home of the former joatBlog, which used to reside at http://www.757.org/~joat. Due to hard times, multiple equipment failures, periodic shortage of space, and the founder moving out of town, the content was moved here.
